Mr. Socolofsky is survived by his wife, nine children, 32 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, three brothers, one sister and a number of nieces and nephews. The children are: G.G. of Tampa; Rev. F. W. of Bessie, Okla.; Mrs. J. F. Major of Dorrance, Kansas; Mrs. Henry Kleiber and Jacob Socolofsky of Ramona; Dan of Hamburg, Iowa; A. L. of Marion; Ben H. of El Campo, Texas; William, Ellinwood. His brothers are: Andrew of Loreburn, Sask. (Canada); Reinhart of Austin, Texas D.D. of Salem, Oregon; and his sister, Mras A. B. Friesen of Monterey Park, Calif.. She married Newt BREWER in 1971 and he died in 1981. Survivors include two brothers, Roy Sprinkle of Westminister, Colo., and Gilbert Sprinkle of Hutchinson; a sister Dolores Langhofer of Towanda; a host of nieces and nephews; five step-children; and several step-grandchildren. My father, Lawrence (Larry) Dahl Staab, of Great Bend, died last year -- on July 1st of 2002. He was, in fact, born in Hays, Kansas, but the Hays Daily News obit got his middle initial wrong and a few other things. You have a listing for a Gerald Staab who only lived ONE day. The website says the info was taken from the gravestone in Severin. This baby, who only lived one day in 1941, was my dad's oldest brother and the son of my grandparents, Seri & Isabelle (Schmeidler) Staab, of Stafford (orginally from Ellis County). They kept the same name for their second baby - "Gerald" (or "Jerry" of Derby, Kansas). I'm pretty sure that Jacob Staab was my Geat-Grandfather -- the father of my Grandpa Seri Staab, of Stafford.

Four children were born to Jacob and Eva: Alex J Reisig of Atlanta Georgia, Alvina Thornton of Portland ,Oregon, Leo C Reisig of Shattuck Ok,., and Billy Reisig, who lost his life during World War II. There were seven children born to this marriage, two of whom died in infancy and three in later years. His wife also preceded him in death in 1932. To this union was born one daughter, Lydia Fritzler of Shattuck and five sons: Reinhart, Fred, and August Steinle of Higgins,Tex.; Sam Steinle of Boulder,Colo. and Ed Steinle of Mulvane, Kan. Mr. Steinle was preced in death of his wife, Julia Steinle in 1950. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Heinze, Wilson, Kan; Mrs. Mary Meier, Shattuck; Mrs. Julia Meier, Dorrance, Kans.; and Mrs. Katie Meier, Enid. Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Steinle came to Wilson, Ks., in 1899, and in 1902 homesteaded a farm 14 miles southwest of Shattuck. His survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, five sons and five daughters-in-law.

Son of David Steinle and Anna Elizabeth, nee Lanthofer. In the year 1894, Katherine Elizabeth FEIL became his helpmate for life. With her he lived in faithfulness and loving devotion until death parted them in February 1939. This marriage God blessed with ten children: David, Fred, Mary, Mollie, Alexander, Anna, Hannah, Emmanuel, Lydia, Elsie. A few years after their marriage the family decided to immigrate and on November 18, 1899, they set foot on American soil. He leaves to mourn his departure; his children: David of Mingo; Fred D. of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Ben Steinle of Wilson; Mrs. Roy W. Sprinkle of Salina; Mrs. Leonard Socha of Claflin; Mrs. Alex Bay of Russell; Mr. C. N. Hubbs, Mollie, Alexander, Emmanuel of Dorrance; Eighteen grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dave Keller of Russell; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were: Ben F. Ivan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Veleda of Colby; daughter, Rylinda and her husband Charles Barnett of Colby; 2 grandchildren: Kristy and her husband Michael Karnes of Colby and Brian Barnett of Bloomington, Indiana. He is also survived by several cousins and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lucille and brother Hubert. Pallbearers were Dale Leighty, Rock Bedore, Quinton Leighty, Michael Karnes, Bud Murphy and Randy Reynolds. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters, her husband, Paul, son LaDean, and one great-grandson. Survivors include a son, Lanny and wife Veronica of Norwich; daughter-in-law Judy Hower of Lucas; six grandchildren: Cindy Brozek, Monty Hower, Kristy Huehl, Cody Hower, Jamie Hower and Ryan Hower; seven great-grandchildren; Gallo Brozek, Levi Brozek, Kerrick Kuder, Kyle Rahmeier, Coby Hower, Colton Hower, and Kristal Huehl; numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Sophia Steinle was the first wife of David "King Dave" Heinze. They were married in Russia in 1870. David and Sophie Heinze with their two sons came to the United States in 1880. The two sons died on the ship and were buried at sea.
