Ben married Elsie SCHETTLEY on Feb. 21, 1941, and they settled on their farm near the family homestead. They had four sons, Gerald J. (Suzon) Schumacher of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Dennis D. (Bonnie) Schumacher of Demming, N.M., Ronald B. Schumacher of Helena, and Robert D. (Jackie) Schumacher of Terry. Ben is preceded in death by his parents, wife Elsie, brothers Jacob, Christian, Adam, Henry and sisters Eva, Mary, Lydia and Leah. He is survived by brother, Marvin and wife, Janice of Clarksville, Iowa; sisters, Maggie and her husband Emil Raeuer of Napoleon, N.D., Emma Werre of Bismarck, N.D., and Rose and Ed Rau of Jamestown, N.D.; his sister-in-law, Martha Schumacher of Streeter, N.D.; his four sons, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services at the Park City Cemetery.

Delbert is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Ann of Dallas, Texas; two children, Stephanie Kelln of Shattuck and Bert Schwarb of Flower Mound, Texas; a son-in-law, Grayson Kelln; a daughter-in-law, Jill Schwab; grandchildren, Becky Kelln, Carl Kelln and soon to arrive twin granddaughters. Emanuel Franklin Schwab was born Sept. 21, 1911 near Shattuck to Emanuel and Katherine (Laubhan) Schwab. Emanuel was united in marriage to Alma APPEL on June 11, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Clara Busch; three brothers, Alex, Bill and Leo. He is survived by his wife, Alma, of the home; his only son, Clifford Schwab and his wife Ann of Higgins; two grandchildren, Brandi Jo Weinette of Denver City, TX; and Christopher J. Schwab of Lubbock, TX; two sisters, Lillie Martin and Esther Schwab, both of San Diego, CA; many relatives and dear friends. Interment was in the Higgins Cemetery.

Youngest son of Henry and Marie Catherine Schwartzkopf. His three brothers and four sisters have all preceded him in death. His father died when he was only nine yeas of age, and his mother died two years later when he was eleven years of age. He was united in marriage with Marie Catherine REINHARDT at New Denhof, Russia, on December 26, 1873. Two years after his marriage, he and his wife and eldest son set out for America, landing at New York City on Dececember 11, 1875. To Mr. and Mrs. Schwartzkopf were born fourteen children; four daughters and ten sons. His wife preceded him in death on November 27, 1909, nearly thirty years ago. The surviving children are daughter Sara Schwartzkopf of Bison; sons John Benjamin and Fred of Bison, Kansas; David, Herman, and Edward of LaCrosse,Kansas.

The family was one of the first colony that settled in south Russell county in the Bender Hill community. In 1889 she was united in marriage with George KARST. One child was born to this union and later a son was adopted by the couple. They farmed in south Russell county until the death of Mr. Karst on March 20, 1923. On Sept. 13, 192(?) she was united in marriage with Henry F. DEINES and shortly thereafter they moved to Russell where they lived until Mr. Deines died on May 9, 1936. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Hannah Strecker of Russell; a son, Ferdinand Karst, of Hoisington; a brother, Jacob Schwein, of Milberger; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Niedenthal, of Russell; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Another little girl will never see her daddy. The little girl is Sharon Gayle Schwein, almost a year old. Her daddy, 27 year old Raymond Schwein, husband of the former Margaret Griggs and son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schwein, Hoisington, was killed in action, December 13 in Germany, a War department telegram to Mrs. Schwein early last evening, stated. Raymond, who is a son-in-law of Mr. and Bob McMullen, 1412 Eleventh Street, has been in the service four years. The McMullens have two other sons-in-law in the service. Leonard Brown, husband of the former Amy Lou Griggs and Fred Moore, Jr., bombardier in the air corps is the husband of the former May Ellen Griggs. In addition to his wife and parents, Raymond is survived by six brothers and two sisters. Sgt. Herman Schwein in France, Corporal Paul A. Schwein in England and Tec. Daughter of Henry and Katherine Becker Schweitzer. On Jan. 25, 1931, she married Theodore BITTER at Susank. He survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Elmer, Great Bend, and the Rev. Glenn R., Topeka; a brother, Adam Schweitzer, Gravette, Ark.; a sister, Martha Grasmick, Rocky Ford; two half sisters, Bertha Root and Becky Robbins, both of LaJunta, Colo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and a half sister. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery.

Her parents were David Schwemer and Catherine Schriock Schwemer. She came to the United States with her parents in 1913 and they settled in the Mountain Lake, MN area. She married Henry KNODEL in Mandan Nov. 28, 1917. Henry, her husband, died July 19, 1972. She is survived by four daughters, Edna, Mrs. Marion Lewandowski, Tacoma; Irene, Mrs. Duane Torvik, Minot; Joan Henrikson, San Hose, Calif.; and Shirley, Mrs. Wm. Mascini, Superior, MT; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Agnes in 1939, her parents and three brothers and two sisters. Burial was made in the Carson Community Cemetery.

They had one daughter and three sons: Robin (Chandler) Lucero, Richard (Susan) Schwenk, Michael (Pamela) Schwenk and Daniel (Miki) Schwenk He had three granddaughters: Tiffany, Samantha and Mckenna. He was married to Maria Dorothea MICHAELIS in 1864. Nine children were born to this union. One son and three daughters died in infancy. The family left their home in Russia in 1899 and came to Mexico (Middle America). The circumstances forced them to leave Mexico and come to America in 1901. God bless the widow with which she had lived 64 years with her husband, Johann Jakob. Mourning the death of John Jacob besides the four sons and one daughter were 36 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Daughter of Caroline (Reifschneider) and Henry Schwindt. She immigrated with her mother, grandparents and siblings to America in 1913 aboard the grand Prince Kaiser Wilhelm. After registering at Ellis Island in New York Harbor, she was reunited with her father, who had gone ahead to make a place for his family, and settled in Gering, Nebr., in August of that year. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Henry (SCHWINDT), sons Jerry and Bob, sisters, Katherine Yakel, Suzanne Constance, Leah Bumpus, Molly Osgood, Emma Cheatle, two infant daughters named Caroline, and brothers Henry H. and Fred Schwindt. Mrs. Shriwise, who has been a widow since 1934. Her father, Conrad Schwindt, brought his wife and family of five children to America in 1866. They came money sent by his father, who had come to this country a few years previously. Four years after they arrived in this county, Mr. Schwindt died (1934). There were now seven in the family. Christina was 19 when her mother died (1906). She married John SHRIWISE in 1908.

Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Anna Romick was born in Doverinka, Russia to parents of German heritage on Feb. 22, 1910. She was the daughter of Fred and Catherine E. (Relka) Semon. At the age of one year, she migrated with her parents and sister Mary to Hayden, Wisc. In 1925 she married Fred ROMICK; they made their home in Melbeta and Gering, Belle Fourche, S.D.; Roundup, Mont. and Alliance, Nebraska. To this union one daughter and three sons were born. Survivors include daughter Lucille and husband John Nuss of Scottsbluff, and sons Milton and Mary Jane Romick of Roundup, Mont., Rodney and Mabel Romick and Tom and Peg Romick of Alliance. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 30 great, great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, seven infant siblings, sisters Mary Cook and Nettie Johannes, stepbrother Alec Steffen and many nieces and nephews.

Music was furnished by a male quartet from Gnadenau M.B. church; H. D. Friesen, Elmer, Flaming, J. E. Friesen and Harold Jost. A short service was held earlier at Wuthnow funeral home, Hope. Helen Rempel and Marilyn Pankratz sang a duet and Rev. Goertz had a short sermon. Son of Godfried and Anna Longhofer Senner. As a boy of 11 he accompanied his parents to America. On Dec. 17, 1911, he was united in marriage to Anna SCHWEMMER. To this union two children were born. Mrs. Senner died in 1918. On March 28, 1921, he was married to Mollie SCHWEMMER to which union four children were born. Surviving are his wife; five daughters: Mrs. Martha Frantz, Hillsboro; Mrs. Ida Frantz, Durham, Mrs. Irene Frantz, Tamps; Mrs. Ben (Anna Mae) Goertz, Durham; Jeanette LaVonne of the home; and one son, David at home; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Fischer, Tampa; four sons-in-law and 14 grandchildren. Casket bearers at the service were his nephews, Wilbert and Duane Steinert, Arthur Mueller, Lawrence Fischer, Paul Hein and David Beisel. Rhoades; two brothers: Kenny Sheetz and Dean Radlcliff; two sisters: Norma Jones and Barbara Smith. Additional Information: Farhar - this family came to the Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma, on March 1, 1909, from Semenot Catholic Colony, twenty miles west of the Volga. John J. Farhar was a blacksmith. His people settled in Semenouka in 1776, they were Hessian immigrants. He was born in 1883, served 4 years in the Russo-Japanese War, married in 1908 to Anna M. Gette, they had fourteen children. He was a blacksmith also in Okeene. Anna died in 1971. Mr. Farhar was alive when the Germans from Russia in Oklahoma book was written in 1980.

Mrs. Shriwise, who has been a widow since 1934. Her father, Conrad Schwindt, who spent five years in the Russian army, brought his wife and family of five children to American in 1866. They came from their home near Saratov, on the Volga River, to Bison on money sent by his father, who had come to this country a few years previously. Four years after they arrived in this country, Mr. Schwindt died. Christina was 19 when her mother died. She married John Shriwise in 1908.

Lida was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, in 1982, two sons, Harvey, in 1979 and Donald, in 2005, a son-in-law, Glen Luder, in 1984, one great-granddaughter, Karen, in 1993, her parents, two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were held November 13, 2205, at 1:30 p.m. at the Lucas United Methodist Church, Pastor Dale Thiele officiating. Rod Ammons sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Precious Memories". Judy Hower was pianist. Jason Feil read a poem, "Safely Home", which was read at her parents funerals. Terry Langerman read the eulogy and Sandra Preuss the obituary. Flower girls wee granddaughters, Darla Wilson, Sandra Preuss, Deb Feil, Twila Fredrickson and Susan Macklin. Pallbearers were grandsons Terry, Larry and Ricky Langerman, Donny Standley, John Luder and Brian and Bradley Standley. Burial was in Delhi Cemetery.

Daughter of the late Peter and Bertha (Fischer) Sixel. Percy SOMMER and Amanda Sixel were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 1927. Percy preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1976. Surviving Amanda is one son, Delmar (Janet) of Howards Grove and a daughter, Margene (Merlin) Meyer of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Mary Jo Woods, Terry (Lynn) Meyer and Dawn (Loren) Reinemann; two great-grandchildren, Carolyn Amanda Woods and Jordan Meyer; three step-great-grandchildren, Savannah Begay, Starleen and Alicia Wagner as well as nieces and nephews further survive her. She was also preceded in death by her twin sister and brother-in-law, Anita (Ruben) Keppler, her sister and brother-in-law, Lillie (Ray) Wunsch, her brother and sister-in-law, Lincoln (Ethel) Sixel, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Norma Kolb. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Sheboygan.

Betty was born April 24, 1931, in Grand Forks, N.D., to Carl and Alma Skager. She was one of 11 children. She married Jake ZEILER on Feb. 23, 1950, and to this union they had five children. Betty later married Jim KNAUB on March 16, 1979. Betty is survived by her children, Jeri Norton, Gord (Kay) Zeiler, Jace "Goofy" (Roxie) Zeiler. She is also survived by the loves of her life, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, one brother, five sisters and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; two sons, Larry and David; three brothers and one sister.
