by his wife Rosalie of 67 years; seven children, Violet and Don Colson, Larry
C. Schnell and special friend, Shirley Reif and Harvey and Bev Schnell, all
of Alliance, Mardella and George McFall of Lakeside, Rosemary and Dave Woods
of Manhattan, Kan., and Roger and Dorothy Schnell and Connie and Jim Engelhaupt,
also of Alliance; 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren;
brother Pete Schnell of Alliance; sisters, Mary Heins of Brush, Colo., Eva
Merrigan of Scottsbluff; half brothers, John Schnell, Edward Schnell and Robert
Schnell, all of Florida; and half sisters, Judy Jenkins of Canada, and Ruth
Todd and Alvina Schnell, both of Florida. His parents; first wife Emma; one

and Ronald Potthoff of Bennington, Neb., Michael "Mike" Martin of
Scottsbluff, Sheila Dianne Merrigan and Guy McPherson of Tucson. They are
blessed with fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Survivors include
her husband; children; grandchildren; great-grandchild; her sister, Mary Ann

Sunday, August 4, 2002, marked the 32nd annual gathering of the Schoenhals
family.
Earl Schoenhals presided over the short business meeting at the request of
President Ruben H. Schoenhals. Ruben volunteered to serve another year as
president. It was voted to retain Sue Ann Schoenhals as treasurer and Anneva
Sander as secretary.
Rev. Gene Land, pastor of St. Paul Congregational Church, gave the blessing

On Sunday, August 3, 2003, the Schoenhals family gathered for their 33rd annual
reunion in he Shattuck Senior Citizens Center. At 1:00 p.m., Mark Schoenhals
called for the election of officers for the following year. Norman Bay was
elected president, Sue Ann Schoenhals was re-elected treasurer and Anneva
Sander was re-elected secretary. Mark then gave the blessing for the food
and the remainder of the afternoon was spent eating and visiting by the 96

Wichita, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 209 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildfen.

Henry G., and Dave. She married David HELFENBEIN on May 25, 1918. He died
in 1964. Mrs. Helfenbein was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters
Freida Helfenbein and Mollie File, two brothers, H. G. Schoenhals and Dave
Schoenhals, two sons, Melviln Helfenbein in December 1997, and David Helfenbein
in November 1998. Survivors include four daughters, Esther Burgess, Amarillo,
Ruth Yauck, Follett, Irene Wimmer, Clara Wimmer and husband Dick, all of Amarillo,

Rueben H. Schoenhals was born to Henry H. and Mollie (Klein) Schoenhals on
September 21, 1924. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister
and six brothers. . Ruben was the last child to be born to this family that
spoke little English, so when he and his twin sister started school they had
to learn a new language as well as other scholarly skills. In 1942, he was
drafted into the Army and he remained in the continental United States during
WWII, serving as a surgical technician. Rueben was married to Leona M. REGAN
on December 10, 1950, and two children were born into this union - Mark Schoenhals
of Spearman, Tex., and J. Gail Petree of Shattuck. He loved his two children
and their spouses, Margy and Bob. He leaves to mourn his wife, two children
and spouse, five grandchildren and spouses, five great-grandchildren. The
mourning extends to a loving brother and twin sister, Allan of Shattuck, and
Ruby Myers of New Martinsville, W. V. Interment was in the Shattuck Memorial.

Pauline was united in marriage to Virgil WALTER on Nov. 19, 1937. Pauline
is survived by her son, Burt Walter and wife Phyllis of Billings. She loved
her grandchildren more than words could ever express. They include Theresa
Caldwell and husband Travis, Brad Walter, Lisa Walter and her son, their only
great-grandchild Samuel Walter, all of Billings, and Kristine VonForrell of
Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by daughter Jeanette (Jim) Schroeder;

and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie

SCHULTZ Family Reunion

The G. C. Schultz and Lorence Schultz families were hosts of the Schultz
reunion held August 6, 2000, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Fellowship
Hall, Ellsworth. The ladies of the church served the noon meal to about
160 family members and guests. Approximtely 100 of the group traveled to
the Gordon Homeier family farm. This was the original home of the Henry
Schultz family in the late 1800s. The 2002 Schultz reunion will be hosted
by the Selma Kohls family.

States settling in Durham, Kansas, when Amelia was a baby. Amelia was united

union was blessed with the birth of one son, Darwin. Amelia was preceded in
death by her parents, two brothers, Dave and Andrew Schultz, and a sister,
Marie Major. Her survivors include her husband of over 71 years, Jacob of

Station in Kimberly from 19678-75. She was preceded in death by her husband
and two brothers, Gilbert and Elmer. Survivors include two sons, Leroy and
Elden, both of Kimberly; a daughter, Paula Weeks of Kimberly; a brother, William
"Bill" Schultz of Kansas; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren;
and four step-great-grandchildren. Burial was in Twin Falls Cemetery.

Hulda Fritzler and Lenora Kelln.

she was united in marriage to Theodore LEDEBOHM. They were married
for 28 years. Theodore preceded her in death on March 31, 1968. Emma is survived
by her daughter-in-law, Johanna Ledebohm of Oostburg; four grandchildren,
Elfie and Paul Schneider, Gerda Ledebohm, Herbert and Michele Ledebohm, Ruth
Clements; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Backes, Nicholas Schneider,
and P.J. Ledebohm. Besides her husband, Theodore, she was preceded in death
by her twin sons, Walter and Herbert.
