Betty June Sampson, and twins Roberta and Rowce Sampson. Survivors include her
husband, Cyrus of Marion; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Clint Jost of
Burdick; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jessye of Berwyn, Neb.; sister
and brother-in-law, Patricia and Curt Davis; brother-in-law, Joe Moore of Citrus
Heights, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mary Anna Scharenberg of Mapleton; and four
grandchildren. A private family graveside service at the Canada Cemetery in
Marion County. Shirley Bowers was pianist. Jim Hett sang "Never Grow Old"

Second of the eight children of Samuel and Mary Schneider Schafer. He taught
school and was so a Lutheran minister in Bruntal (Brunnental), Russia. He sent
his two oldest sons, Solomon, age 17, and Samuel, age 16, to the United States
to avoid Russia;s forced military conscription. Ben's father, Samuel, arrived
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1889 and by 1900 was homesteading in Ellis
County, Oklahoma, where he met and married Mary SCHNEIDER. On July 16, 1927,
Ben and Etna TRUEBLOOD were married in Lipscomb County. Interement was at Monticello
City Cemetery. Ben was preceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willie
and Robert; and a sister, Millie. He is survived by his wife, Etna; sons, Gene,
Vernon and Victor all of Monticello; a daughter, Darlene Sitton of St. Louis,Missouri;

child to Mary Louise Schneider Schafer and Samuel Schafer. Her father
was one of the Volga Germans who came from Breunnental, Russia, in 1891.
He met and married his wife in Kansas and settled in the Texas Panhandle, where
they had eight children. She met and married Patrick Stuman in 1935 at Canadian.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Stuman and Mrs. Charles Barnes;
a sister, Clare Herrington of Pleasanton; and several nieces and nephews.

Rickey. Margaret was blessed to have eight incredible grandchildren: Colleen

Margaret's one very special surviving sister, Celestine "Sally" Fredenburg,
lives in Billings. There are also numerous nieces and nephews who enriched Margaret's
long life. Margaret was married in Laurel, Mont., to Mike Zent in 1941. Their
union produced Kathy and Mike. Her heart was captured by little Rickie Lee,
whom she and Mike adopted when he was 2 years old. She nurtured tiny 10-day-old
Bernadine Wells until Bernadine was married 22 years later. Six-year-old Agnes
Breen Wagner and her sister Kathleen joined the Zent family in 1959. Agnes went
on to graduate from high school and get married during her life in the wonderful
Zent home. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

German wedding. Katie received her U.S. Citizenship in 1936.

Daughter of Henry and Maria (Becker) Schangel. She married Jacob JOHANNES. In
1902 they immigrated to America. Her husband died at Rocky Ford and sometime
later she married Henry KARST, also a widower. Mr. Karst also passed away on
December 2, 1933. There were two daughters by her first marriage and three sons
by the second marriage. She was also the mother to five stepdaughters along
with her own chldren. On January 3, 1940, she was again united in marriage to
Peter BOXBERGER at Russell. Mr. Boxberger also preceded her in death in October
1952. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Adam Nuss and Mrs. Arthur Radke
at Russell; 3 sons, Sigmund Karst, Herman Karst, both of Hoisington; Alvin Karst,
Hutchinson; five step-daughters, Mrs. Bertha Peil, Liberal, Kansas; Mrs. Hanna

two miles north of Bridger, Meta and her siblings Paul, Henry, Lillie and Freddie
learned to value hard work, determination and thriftiness. Meta married Arnold
MEINHARDT, another first-generation American, in Bridger on Nov. 16, 1946. Children
Steven, Jerry, Donna and Vonnie were born as Arnold and Meta traveled about
Montana. She lost Arnold in 1983. Mom also loved fishing with her partner, Robert
Markel.

her parent's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Alex died on June 30, 1992.

He was the third of four children born to Ed and Helen Schillinger at the Vida
homestead. On May 22, 1947, he committed to his partner for life, Anna Lucille
MAYES. Seven children joined the Vida household: Kathleen, Joyce, Elaine, Jerry,
Annette, LaVern and Leanne. Preceding him in death were Kenneth and Anna's firstborn
child, Mary Ann; as well as his parents, Ed and Helen Schillinger; and his siblings,
Walter Schillinger and Lucille Loendorf. Kenneth leaves behind many family and
friends who will remember always their many wonderful memories. Anna, his partner
of nearly 60 years, remains at the family home in Circle. His younger sister,
Evelyn (Harvey) Neufeld lives Lewiston, Idaho. Children, Kathleen and Jim McGowan;
Joyce Schillinger; and Elaine and Perry Eidum reside in Helena. Jerry and Carol
Schillinger are in Circle and Annette and Scott Pierce are in Missoula. LaVern
and Anne Schillinger live in Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Leanne Schillinger and fiancé
Dave Stewart reside near Carter. Grandchildren who fondly called him "Papa"
are Erin, Brian and Kelly McGowan, Charlie Amundson and Margaret Kecskes, Parker
and Fletcher Eidum, Brett, Alex and Paul Schillinger, Kennedy and Cassidy Pierce,
and Kate, Will and Maggie Schillinger. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws

They were blessed with four children, twins Larry Dean and Lori Dawn, Edward

was raised by her grandparents. She married Harvey Kruse on May 28, 1933. She
was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Harvey Kruse, who died
March 22, 1989. Survivors include their son, Dwight and his wife Jerrie Kruse
of rural Marion; their grandson Alan and his wife Melissa Kruse, rural Marion,
and their children Lexie and Trevor; granddaughter Pamela Kruse of Emporia and
grandson Jason Kruse, rural Marion; daughter Patricia and her husband Lowell

Strassburg Community for most of their 55 years of marriage. Hannah was preceded
in death by her beloved husband, Harvey KRUSE, on Mar. 22, 1989. She leaves

Dennis Seifert sang "Abide With Me," and "What a Friend We Have
in Jesus", with Mrs. Johan Seifert as organist. Casket bearers were Dan,
Herman, and Milton Schlotthauer, Paul Vogel, Sam Thole, and J.C. Ehrlich. Interment
was in Strassburg Cem. Son of Georg Henry and Barbara Schlotthauer. On March
15, 1906, Mr. Schlotthauer was united in marriage with Hannah EHRLICH. This
union was blessed with one daughter, Hannah Mabel. Just 11 days after the birth
of the baby, tragedy struck the new home. Death claimed the wife and mother,
leaving Mr. Schlotthauer with his daughter. He remained a widower for 63 years.
His two grandchildren, Patricia and Dwight Kruse, and his four gt. grandchildren,
brought much joy into his life. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter,
Mrs. Hannah Kruse and her husband, Harvey; two grandchildren, Patricia Socolofsky
and her husband, Lowell, Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany; Dwight Kruse and
his wife, Jerrie, Marion; four gt. grandchildren, Gina, Rita, David and John
Socolofsky; one sister, Mrs. Katie Vogel, Marion; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs.

Mr. Schlotthauer was born to Chris and Anna Propp Schlotthauer on November 7,
1889, on a farm northwest of Marion. In the year 1912, he was united in marriage
to Jane EHRLICH. To this union, one daughter, Nila, was born. He was took great
pride in his two grandsons, Charles and Richard, whom he loved dearly. His wife,
Jane, passed away in March 1940. On December 21, 1946 he was united in marriage
to Anna PROPP. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Anna, his daughter,
Nila, one son-in-law, Menno Meisinger; two grandsons, Charles and Richard Meisinger;
also three stepchildren, Leland Propp, Auburn, California, Roy Propp of Jacksonville,
Florida, and Mildred Whitlock, of Valley Center; three sisters, Mrs. Martha

In 1900 her family immigrated to Enid, Okla., where she married Phillip FRIHAUF
in 1902. Her husband died Jan. 5, 1957. Mrs. Frihauf is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Hanna Frank and Mrs. Sara Stroh, both of Wiggins; four sons, John, Fred,
and Paul, all of Byers, and Jacob of Wiggins; a sister, Mrs. Molly Adrieanassens
of San Pablo, Calif.; a brother, Jacob Schlund of Hazelton, Idaho.
