ALLIANCE - Mabel I. Hashman, 89, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009. Born on Aug. 21, 1919, to William and Rosa (Knapp) Vogel on the family farm in Box Butte County. M arried CHARLES DEAN HASHMAN. Survivors include her son and family, Douglas and Colleen Hashman; grandchildren, Tim Hashman of Alliance and Amy (Mike) Davies of Cheyenne, Wyo. She is also survived by her sister, Elsie (Ray) Brandt; brothers, William (Pat) Vogel and Herbert (Betty) Vogel; sister-in-laws, Mavis (Leo) Wernke and Twila Hashman all of Alliance plus many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Dean; an infant son; her parents; sisters and brother-in-laws, Esther (Doyle) Dyer, Ruth (Paul) Morrison and Pearl (Owen) Johnson.

Survivors include: daughters, Angela Voth and husband, Terry, and Christine Trimmell and husband, Darryl; step-daughters, Bobby Jo Thomas and Annette Johnson; brother, Tommy Vogt; sister, Barbara Clemens; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Terry Justice; a brother, Lawrence; and one great-grandson.

In addition to wife Karleen and sons Todd and John, he is survived by daughter-in-law Shawna and four grandchildren. Other survivors include mother Fern Vogt Unruh of Hillsboro; sons Todd and Shawna Vogt of Hillsboro and John Vogt of Norton; sister Joanne and Harvey Foyle of Emporia and four grandchildren.

GOESSEL — Esther Unruh, 81, died Wednesday (Dec. 2, 2009) at Bethesda Home in Goessel. Unruh was the daughter of David and Mary Flaming Pankratz Voth. Born Aug. 8, 1928, she lived in the Goessel community. Married C. HOWARD UNRUH in 1958, celebrating their 50th anniversary before his untimely passing in the summer of 2008. They raised four sons, and were blessed by seven grandchildren. Survived by her sons Tom, John, Fred and Bill, as well as seven grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Wilma Schmidt, Alice Duerksen, Hulda Schrag, Darlene Schroeder and Elmer D. Voth. Preceded in death by her parents David and Mary Voth and her infant sister, Betty.
