Death came to Henry J. Stoppel, 71, Sunday Morning, March 30, (1947). Born on June 9, 1875, in Mieatermonjou, Russia. Married ANNA ELIZABETH RIEB. Mrs. Stoppel died June 30, 1942. To them were born 12 children, seven of whom preceded their father in death. Surviving are three sons: Chris of Wilson; Jake, who lives in Montana; and Paul, of Kanopolis; and two daughters: Laura Hilgenberg of Bunker Hill, and Hannah Brown of Wilson; also a sister Martha Wasmuth of Chicago and 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to raising their own large family, Mr. and Mrs. Stoppel also provided a home land gave parents love and care to David Betz and Marie Anschutz.
