Frank Ihly, 62, died at the St. Joseph’s hospital Monday, Sept. 7, after an illness of about one year.
He is survived by his wife, Frances, five daughters, Mrs. Binek, Dickinson; Mrs. Doyle Gilham, Hot Springs, Ark.; Mrs. Earl Miller, Lawton, Okla.; Mrs. Jim Ficek, Santa Monica, Calif.; and Mrs. Joe Klein, Dickinson; and a son Frank, Dickinson.
Mr. Ihly was born in Russia Nov. 2, 1890. He came to the United States with his parents when he was a small child. They settled in the Dickinson territory.
He was married to Frances Fritz at Mandan in 1914.
He has been an employee of the Northern Pacific for 44 years. He became a fireman in 1909 and was promoted to a place as engineer in 1916.
Other survivors are four brothers, Joe and John Ihly of Spokane, Wash.; Jack of Coeur d’Alene, ID; and Nick of Anchorage, Alaska; and a sister, Jean of Anchorage.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the St. Joseph’s church at 10 a.m. with Msgr. George P. Aberle officiating. The Mischel-Olson chapel had charge of the funeral. The Dickinson ND Press 10 Sep 1953
