Loretta Mary Benzel, 79, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 14, at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Cremation will be held after the service with a private family interment to follow at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to Salem Congregational Church. Loretta was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Angora, Neb. to Albin Leo and Josephine (Terasinski) Chlopek. She married Ben BENZEL June 22, 1946, in Scottsbluff. She retired from the Midwec Corporation as a supervisor of quality control. Loretta was a member of Salem Congregation Church, the Study Circle and Reach Out programs of the church.
She is survived by her husband Ben; sons and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Karen Benzel of The Villages, Fla. and William L. Benzel of Lyman; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Doug Strauch of Mitchell; sister, Annabelle McGhee of Bakersfield, Calif., grandchildren, Randy (Melea) Benzel of Castle Rock, Colo., Renee (Brian) Bernhard, Commerce City, Colo., Russell Benzel, Firestone, Colo., Hunter (Beverly) Strauch, Gering, Megan Hanshew, San Diego, Calif., and Heidi Strauch of Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Kendal Benzel, Cameron Benzel, Courtney Benzel, Simon Bernhard, Riley Strauch and Emily Strauch.

Dorothy Mitchell - Aug. 27, 1937-July 23, 2007 - Age: 69 - Residence: Greeley
Tribute: Dorothy Jean Mitchell was born in Lucerne to Victor and Lydia (Whittman) Chrispen.
On July 27, 1957, she married Zack Mitchell in Raton, N.M. He died Nov. 2, 1990.
Mrs. Mitchell had lived in Greeley most of her life and graduated from Eaton High School in 1955. She worked as a lab technician at the Great Western Sugar Co. factory. She and her husband owned a trucking company for a period of time, and then drove trucks for Jim Lang Trucking.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Greeley-Evans No 2220 Women of the Moose, was in Rainbow Girls during high school and served as worthy advisor in 1955.
Mrs. Mitchell died Monday at the North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.
Survivors: A daughter, Judith Cox and fiance Bret of Greeley; two sons, Alan Mitchell of Henderson and Jack Mitchell of Greeley; her twin sister, Betty Lieuallen and husband Virgil, and a brother, James Chrispen and wife Dottie, all of Greeley; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Her husband and parents.
Memorial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Greeley/Evans Moose Lodge No. 909, 3456 11th Ave., Evans. Cremation.

Goering, Catherine Enid, 83, a long time resident of Haysville, Kan., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2007. She was born in Enid, Okla., on Dec. 3, 1923 to Susan Boyer Clegg and Harlan A. Clegg. Catherine graduated from high school in Newton, Kan., in 1941. She was married to Wilmer E. GOERING on March 12, 1944. They became the parents of a daughter, Selinde (Cindy), and two sons, Wilmer Edward and Lawrence Kermit. Her 35 year career, in the Haysville School System, included periods of time serving as a classroom teacher, a reading specialist and a school administrator. Catherine was preceded in death by her her parents, husband of 54 years in Dec. of 1998; her daughter, Cindy, in Aug. of 2005; and her sister, Billie, in Sept. of 1998. She is survived by two sons: Wilmer Goering II & his wife Barbara McKinney, of Madison, Ind. and Larry Goering & his wife Karen McCoskey Goering, of St. Louis, Mo.; son-in-law Michael Hays of Houston, Texas; two grandsons: Jacob Goering of West Lafayette, Ind. and Nathan Hays of Houston, Texas; brother Don Clegg, Abbottstown, Pa.; sister Ruth Reed, Arkansas City, Kan. HOUSTON, Texas - Catherine Enid Goering, 83, a long time resident of Haysville, Kansas, passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, October 12, 2007.
She was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on December 3, 1923 to Susan Boyer Clegg and Harlan A. Clegg. Catherine graduated from high school in Newton, Kansas, in 1941 and entered Bethel College in the fall of that year. She was married to Wilmer E. Goering on March 12, 1944, after which the two of them went to work at Camp Atterberry, Indiana, where they remained for the duration of World War II, renting a home in nearby Columbus, Indiana.
After the end of their service at Camp Atterberry, the couple lived in Lawrence, Kansas, where Wilmer attended and graduated from the University of Kansas Law School. Their next residence was in Lyons, Kansas, where their daughter, Selinde Suzanne was born. After their move to Hillsboro, Kansas, they were joined by a son, Wilmer Goering, II and a second son, Lawrence Kermit Goering.
Catherine finished her degree at the University of Wichita where she won the Scheer Efficiency Prize for the highest undergraduate grade point average. She subsequently earned an M. A. in education at Wichita State University. After holding teaching positions in Lyons and Wichita, Catherine joined the school system in Haysville, Kansas. Her thirty-five year career as an educator included periods of time serving as a classroom teacher, a reading specialist and a school administrator.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years in December 1998; her mother in August of 1977; her father in May of 1981; her daughter in August of 2005; and her sister September of 1998.
She is survived by two sons: Wilmer Goering II and his wife Barbara McKinney, of Madison, Indiana and Larry Goering and his wife Karen McCoskey Goering, of St. Louis, Missouri; son-in-law Michael Hays of Houston, Texas; two grandsons: Jacob Goering, of West Lafayette, Indiana and Nathan Hays, of Houston, Texas; brother, Don Clegg and wife Pat, of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania; sister, Ruth Reed and husband Claude, of Arkansas City, Kansas; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service for Catherine will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th, 2007, at Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church located at 655 South Lorraine Avenue in Wichita, Kansas.
Catherine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

LOVELAND, Colo. - Gregory (Greg) Dean Cochran, 46, died Oct. 4, 2007, at his home after a two year courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 17, 1961 in Scottsbluff to Dean and Judy (Deines) Cochran. He grew up on the family farm near Melbeta, and attended Melbeta Public School.
Following high school, Greg was employed by the Burlington Railroad for many years. On Dec. 21, 1991, he married Lisa MILLER and moved to Minden. While living in Minden, Greg was employed by Wardcraft Homes. In 2002, they moved to Loveland, Colo., where he was currently employed by Timbercreek Homes.
Greg loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He loved life and he loved people. Greg had a wonderful sense of humor and brought much joy and laughter to those around him.
Greg is survived by his wife, Lisa, and son Colby Cochran of Loveland, Colo., step-daughters Ashley and Brittney Miller of Lincoln, granddaughter Cailee Dickey of Lincoln, father, Dean Cochran of Mitchell, sisters, Gwen Corr of Minden, Cindy Cochran of Torrington, Wyo., and Linda Goertz of Longmont, Colo. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Maxine Noltie of Minden, four sister-in-laws, four brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Cochran and his grandparents.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Federated Church in Mitchell.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Greg to his son's education fund or the donor's choice.

DORRANCE - Walter W. "Corky" Coffeen, 89, died May 1, 2007, at Golden Living Center, Wilson.
He was born June 5, 1917, in Dorrance, the son of Frank and Adelia Branda Coffeen. A lifetime resident of Dorrance, he was a barber owning Coffeen Barber Shop for 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6240. On Oct. 26, 1941, he married Anna BRANDA in Dorrance. Survivors include: two daughters, Veldean Feil, Salina, and Sharon Sprinkle, Hutchinson a brother, Jack, Russell; a sister, Ethel John, Russell; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Vern and John; and five sisters, Florence Cook, Leta Coffeen, Laura Heinze, Edith Friebus, and Jill Dryden. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster Mortuary Chapel, Wilson, with Sister Diane Wagner presiding. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Dorrance City Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Dorrance American Legion Post No. 334, or the Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5240, both in care of the funeral home.

TORRINGTON - Wilma "Willie" Domson, 68, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at the Cheyenne Medical Center. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at North Hills Baptist Church in Lingle, Wyo. with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Willie was born July 25, 1939, in Marion, Kan. the daughter of Frank and Marie (Kasper) Conyers. The family moved to Lingle in 1950 where Willie attended Lingle High School. She met and married Robert WAGNER in 1956 and they had two children, Cindy and Rick. The couple later divorced.
The family lived in various places in Wyoming until 1971 when Willie made a permanent home in Torrington. She worked at Country Brokerage as a broker and sales agent for a time but later went to work at the Torrington First National Bank. She had been with the bank as a teller for 18 years and was currently employed there at the time of her death.
Willie loved her family unconditionally especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, shopping! chocolate, fishing, and taking in stray pets. During the football season, she liked attending the University of Wyoming football games. Getting together with her family was always a highlight of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Winget of Lingle; son, Rick Wagner of Riverton, Wyo.; grandsons, Beau Wagner of Laramie, Wyo., Blair Wagner of Charlston, S.C., and Tucker Winget of Torrington; granddaughters, Katie Winget of Torrington and Sara Wagner of Casper, Wyo.; great-grandson, Skylar Wagner of Casper; brother, Fred Conyers of Meridan, Kan.; sisters, Lou Carlin of Leavenworth, Wash., Jan Unverzagt of Lingle, Nancy Snell of Cheyenne, and Jane Carlson of Wheatland, Wyo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brett Wagner; brothers, Ken Conyers and Jim Conyers; sister, JoAnn Wilhelm; and her good friend, Larry Weber.

Ethel Belle Snyder passed away at Valley Health Care and Rehabilitation Center on Oct. 7, 2007, at the age of 99.
She was born to John and Fannie Cook on May 27, 1908, in Nebraska, where she was raised with her brothers and sisters. She married the love of her life, LeRoy W. Snyder, who worked for the Woolworth Co. He was transferred with that company and they relocated to Billings.
She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Billings, where, in the past, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was president of Christian Women's Fellowship, along with many other duties. Though her eyesight had failed while a resident at Sage Tower Retirement Home, she still managed to crochet beautiful afghans and do many other crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Gary L. Snyder of Tucson, Ariz.; her grandson, Kenneth L. Snyder of Spokane, Wash.; her granddaughter, Cheresa L. Jones of Tucson; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Cremation or Funeral Gallery on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m., with Bobby Shaw officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

TOPEKA – Judy Kay Cromwell, 63, a lifetime Kansas resident, died Oct. 6 (2007) at home in Topeka. She was born April 26, 1944, in Hoisington, the daughter of Myrl and Lucy Miller Cromwell. She was a social studies teacher in the Topeka school system for 38 years.

DODGE CITY - Marilyn J. Brack, 75, died Aug. 24, 2007, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born May 17, 1932, in Dodge City, the daughter of Roy E. and Gladys LaVerne Stick Curry. She attended Dodge City High School. A longtime resident of Dodge City, she was a retired daycare provider.
She married Kenneth HINTON. On Oct. 1, 1977, she married Arlyn L. BRACK in Garden City. He died Feb. 2, 1995.
Survivors include: a son, Mike Hinton, Plattsmouth, Neb.; four daughters, Kenda Grady, Dodge City, Brona Lethem, Garden City, Jeannette Sullivan, Doniphan, Mo., and Kelli Goddard, Wichita; two brothers, Larry L. Curry, Wichita, and Jerry A. Curry, Minneola; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Oma Goddard.
