Preceded in death by: husband, CHARLES BATT; stepson, Herb Batt; brothers, Henry, Louie, Alex and Ezra Schimpf; sisters, Rachel McGowen, Leah Stenzel and Emma Allen; and an infant sister. Survivors: stepson, Dean Batt (Bettie), of Marion; sister, Hanna Wood, of Hutchinson; and two step-grandchildren.

TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Ronald Lee Schlagel, 60, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, in Branson, Mo. Born Feb. 13, 1950, in Scottsbluff the son of Benjamin and Florence (Domson) Schlagel. Married PATTY STEINMETZ June 21, 1974. Survivors include his wife Patty Schlagel of Torrington; sons, Bryan and Molly Schlagel, Bruce and Lori Sclagel, and Bryce Schlagel and his companion Karla Lemmon all of Torrington; grandchildren, Calli Schlagel, Ashley Schlagel, Jayden Schlagel and Jace Schlagel of Torrington; sisters, Kathy Dietrich of Cheyenne, and Janice Dimas of Guernsey; and his mother, Florence Martin of Torrington. Preceding him in death was his father, Benjamin Schlagel and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife Gaylene and daughter Brittany, both of Torrington; father, Harry H. Schlager of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brother, Harry H. Ruben Schlager - April 25, 1921 - April 20, 2010 - Ruben Schlager passed away 20 April 2010 in The Dalles, Ore. He was five days short of his 89th birthday. Ruben was born the eighth of what would be 17 children to Jakob and Elisabetha (Deines) Schlager on the farm north of Mitchell, Neb. On July 22,1944, Ruben married DONZELLA G. WILSON. Ruben is survived by his wife; six children, Sue and her husband Rick Hahn, Lee Ann and her husband Richard Livingston, James and his wife Teresa DeBarartolo, Beth and her husband Greg Kaser, Russell and his wife Angie, David and his wife Cindy; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Scott Smetzer, Jodi and her husband Jason Giuseponi, Brad and Tait Pricer, Jason and his wife Amy, Melissa, Levi Kaser, Molly and her husband Allen Beamis, Emma, Gracie Mae; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Samuel, Elijah Ruben and Luke Smetzer, Arin Guillory, and Morgan and Nicolas Guiseponi; seven siblings, Rose Schwartz, Robert and his wife Doloris, Clara and her husband Bill Costopoulos, Wilma and her husband Chuck Ward, Harry, Bill and his wife Marlene, Lawrence and his wife Jeanette;and 50 nieces and nephews.
