NEWTON - Eugene R. Quint, 97, died Nov. 1, 2010,  in Newton.   Born May 6, 1913, to John P.A. and Catherine Windholz Quint.    Married MARY KATHERINE SCHMIDT Nov. 6, 1939. She survives with son, Eugene; daughter, Rita; grandsons, Mike and John; and sisters, Viola and Norma Jean.

Eugene R. Quint, 97, of Newton, died Monday (Nov. 1, 2010)  in Newton.  Born on May 6, 1913, in Victoria, the son of John P.A. and Catherine Windholz Quint.   On Nov. 6, 1939, Eugene married MARY KATHERINE SCHMIDT.   Survivors include his wife, Mary of Newton; one son, Eugene Quint of Newton; one daughter, Rita Quint of Wichita; two grandsons, Mike and John Quint; and two sisters, Viola Kuhn of Russell and Norma Jean Fellers of Hays. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Virgil Quint; and four sisters, Rena Brungardt, Mary Ellen Leiker, Elaine Sanders and Enda Goetz.

Richard B. Quint, 90, Garden City, died  Feb. 11, 2010,  at Loveland, Colo.   Born Sept. 18, 1919, in Sitka to Alois and Anna Mary (Wasinger) Quint.   Married ROSELLA BERNICE LAMOREE on Aug. 4, 1941. She preceded him in death Sept. 1, 1970. He later married CECELIA PFEIFER on July 27, 1974.   Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Richard Quint Jr., Nixa, Mo., and Rodney Quint, Lake Mary, Fla.; four daughters, Katherine Vogel, Loveland, Evelyn McMillan, Pacific, Mo., Donna Rooney, Bartlette, Ill., and Deborah Landry, Mukilteo, Wash.; a step-son, Neil Pfeifer, Chesterfield, Mo.; three step-daughters, Linda Pfeifer and Diane Jensen, both of Wichita, and Marie Rohleder, Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Raymond Quint and Thomas Brungardt, both of Garden City; two sisters, Shirley Richmeier, Garden City, and Sister Bertilla Brungardt, Great Bend; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by a son, Joseph Quint.

 Agnes Bernhardt, 91, died Sept. 25 (2010)  in Hillsboro.   Born Aug. 16, 1919, at Wolf Point, Mont., to Jacob and Helena (Ediger) Quiring.  On Aug. 3, 1945, she married  ALVIN BERNHARDT.   He died April 19, 2002.  A brother, Milt, and two sisters, Goldie Grace and Rosella Mae, also preceded her. Survivors include her son, James of Marion; a daughter, Laurel Acklin of El Dorado; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
