Lydia (Zier) Eckhardt, 95, of Scottsbluff passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009. Born April 23, 1914 at Fromberg, Montana to Jacob and Anna (Kuhlman) Zier. Married JOHN ECKHARDT. Survivors include two children, Royce (Marjorie) Eckhardt of Wilmette, Ill.; and Janet (David) King of Mohnton, Penn.; grandchildren, John (Laura) Eckhardt of Illinois; Susan (Robert) Odom of Minnesota; Matthew King; Joel (Beth) King; Timothy, Michelle, Jessica and Christopher King all of Pennsylvania; Laura (Benjamin) Leggott of Melbeta; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen Eckhardt; Tyler, Emma, Mayda and Wyatt Leggott; sister, Betty Walters of Lodi, Calif. as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 69 years, John, a young son Theodore as well as six brothers and three sisters.

Zimmerman, Henry, 94, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Born September 23, 1914, on a farm near Schoenchen, KS. The 1930's Depression and Dustbowl caused Henry to leave, with his wife, Agnes, to live and work in Chicago where he was a machinist until the outbreak of WWII. Preceded in death by his parents, Rose and John Zimmerman, his brothers, Jacob, Carl, Fred, Celly, Seraphine, Jerry and Julius, his dear wife, AGNES SCHMIDT ZIMMERMAN, and infant daughter, Mary Ann. He is survived by his brothers, Connie of Hays and Clarence of Iowa, many nieces and nephews, his daughters and their spouses, Becky and Don Racine and Patricia and John Reibenspies, all of Wichita, grandchildren, Michael, Daniel (Virginia), John and Kevin Racine, Ann Chase (Tom) and five great-grandchildren.

SMITH CENTER -- Alvin J. Zorn, 81, died Saturday, July 4, 2009. Born April 19, 1928, in Odin, to Ferdinand and Ann Zorn. Survivors: wife, Bernice; daughter, Joan (Richard) Kuhlman; sons, Marvin (Robin) and Randy (Julie); brothers, Leonard, Edwin, and Gerald; sisters, Mathilda and Ann Schremmer, Marion Schroeder and Helen Holliday; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ELLINWOOD — Mary Elizabeth Sylvia Mog, 97, died July 20 (2009). Born May 22, 1912, on the family farm in Ellsworth County, she was the daughter of Frank Zorn and Lena Schusky Zorn. Married BENJAMIN MOG. He died in 1960. Survivors include a son, Gary Zorn and wife Stephanie of Ellinwood; a sister, Catherine Zorn of Ellsworth; two granddaughters, Liz Zorn of Ellinwood and Amanda Perez of Great Bend; a niece, Dixie Shank and husband Dwight of Hutchinson; three nephews, Chad Eakin and wife Janice of Great Bend, Terry Huff and wife Cindy of Larned, and Don Mog and wife Pat of Del Rio, Texas; and a great-nephew, Randy Eakin of Scottsdale, Ariz. Preceded in death by four brothers, August, Charles, Albert and Felix Zorn; and six sisters, Anna Nienke, Ardella Zorn, Pauline Nienke, Martene Mog, Eleanor Bradford and Matilda (Tillie) Brown.
