Kessel, Peter ca.1827-1929 - Forsythe, July 6—(Special)—Death came Friday afternoon to the oldest resident of Rosebud county when Peter Kessel, 102-year-old rancher, passed away. Was a native of Russia. Kessel’s wife and seven children died before he left Russia. Survived by his 87-year-old brother Joe and by a niece, Mrs. Agnes Solieski of Rosebud.

Elnora Florence Knehans Stotts was the youngest daughter of German immigrants, Gustav William and Amelia Kathrina Knehans whose native language was German. Born on the family homestead near Beemont, Mo., on Jan. 25, 1914. Her grandparents donated the land for the Beemont Zion Methodist Episcopal Church. Married MILES H. STOTTS . Miles passed on Nov. 12, 2002. They had two children, Miles Hargrove Stotts II and Kathrina Belle (Stotts) Juby, and five grandchildren, Amy and Sara Stotts and Andrew, Adam and Alex Juby. Miles and Elnora served six Methodist churches in Missouri and Kansas until his retirement in 1968.

At the tender age of 102, she was still having her hair done and using her wrinkle cream. Her granddaughters pray for her beautiful skin. Surviving Bertha are her children, Vivian of Pullayup, Wash., Joe Jr. (Evelyn), Edward (Shirley), Carolyn Heafner, all of Billings; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son Frank, son-in-law Ken Heafner Sr., daughter in-law Carol Frank, grandson Randy Frank, as well as her parents and all siblings. Bertha was definitely the matriarch of the family.

Surviving are his wife and 6 sons and 6 daughters: Nick J. Kuntz, Anton Kuntz and John M. Kuntz of Tacoma WA; Phillip Kuntz of Forsyth; Sgt. Jacob L. Kuntz, Everett WA; A/3c George F. Kuntz in Portugal; Mrs. Andrew Ludwig, Billings; Mrs. Millo Decker, Yakima WA; Mrs. Charles Fourtner, Anaconda; Mrs. Floyd Buckalew, Roundup; Mrs. Sue Tuttle and Mrs. Barbara Palmer of Forsyth. There are 46 grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Joe Kuntz of Mandan ND and 1 sister, Mrs. Isabell Cooper of Dickinson ND

Kuntz, Vincent 1861-1944 - Vincent Kuntz, 83, died Saturday afternoon (Aug. 12). Born in Russia in 1861 and came to the US in 1882. Survivors include the widow, Elizabeth; four sons, Thomas Kuntz and Adam Kuntz of Custer, Jerome Kuntz of Pryor, and Fred Kuntz whose whereabouts is not known. A brother, Joseph Kuntz of Mandan ND also survives.
