MITCHELL - John C. Teeters, 88, died at the Mitchell Care Center on June 1, 2008. John was born January 26, 1920 at Indian Hills near Chugwater, Wyo. the son of Merle and Amalda (Wolam) Teeters. Married Lillian ERNST in Torrington. Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Mitchell; son, Ron Teeters of Camp Verde, Ariz.; daughter, Carolyn Teeters of Torrington; sisters, Lauree Johnston of Cheyenne, Wyo. Dorothy Newton of Torrington, and Berthena Standifer of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Joel Teeters of Lingle, Wyo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a loving son, Tom, killed in a car accident near Rawlins, Wyo. coming home from the army; and a grandson, Joshua Sandusky.

Melvin C. "Mutt" Teter, 91, died Oct. 12, 2008, at the Buhler Sunshine Home. He was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Hutchinson, the son of Jesse and Amy Blanche Hegarty Teter. Married Norma SCHAMBACHER in Hutchinson. She died Sept. 21, 2000. Survivors include: three sons, Richard, Wichita, Dennis, Hutchinson, and Douglas, Hutchinson; a daughter, Peggy Moffett, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Billy, a brother, Chester, and a sister, Loretta.

THOMAS, ANDY 1890-1980 - Andy Thomas, 90, died late Tuesday in a local hospital. Thomas was born April 25, 1890 in Olypias, Greece. At the age of 13, he came to the United States and worked his way from New York to Watonga where he met Mr. & Mrs. White who raised him as their son. Married Rae NUSZ in Enid. Thomas became an American Citizen in 1950. Survivors include his wife, Rae; one son, Jim, Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and several brothers and sisters. She was born Feb. 3, 1919, in Tangier to James Wesley and Beulah Amy Bodwell Thomas and died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Grace Living Center. Surviving are one daughter, LaVoinne Stricker of Woodward; one son, A..J. Laubhan of Woodward; one sister, Laura Evalyn Stevens of Woodward; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Opal Irene Detweiler, 99, of Salina, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008. Mrs. Detweiler was born in Osborne on March 30, 1909, the daughter of the late Delbert L. and Katie M. (Scholl) Timbers. She was married to Sam STILL from 1931 until his death in 1977, to Ray LANTZ from 1980 until his death in 1994, and to John DETWEILER from 1995 until his death in 2001. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Timbers and Dwight Timbers; and four sisters, Wanda Kuhn, Emma Starbuck, Hazel Wadham and Beuna Robinson.
