MEDORA - Dan S. Neufeld, 87, died March 8, 2008, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.
He was born March 23, 1920, in Reno County, the son of John and Eva Schierling Neufeld. He had worked for Buhler Mills and Hutchinson Bag Factory.
He belonged to Bethel Mennonite Church.
On Aug. 14, 1946, he married Edna NEUFELD in Inman. She died Nov. 12, 1976.
Survivors include: two sons, David, Waverly, and Stan, Wichita; three daughters, Daneda Heppner, Denton, Neb., Cheryl Tellefson, Leavenworth, and Geanie Rusk, Beatrice, Neb.; a brother, Ike, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Abe, Ray and Harry, a sister, Esther Neufeld, and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman, with Pastors Alden Dick and Jake Heppner presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Buhler Mortuary. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery, Inman. Memorials may be sent to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), in care of the mortuary.

PARTRIDGE - Mildred L. Friesen, 90, died April 21, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Inman, to Henry and Agnes Pauls Nickel.
She had been a Reno County resident since 1947. She graduated form Wichita East High School in 1935. She was a homemaker and she and her husband farmed in Reno County near Pretty Prairie and in Logan County. She was of the Mennonite Faith.
On May 6, 1937 she married Leonard FRIESEN in Chicago, Ill. He died Nov. 30, 1993.
Survivors include: sons, Larry Friesen and wife Jeanette, Pretty Prairie, David Friesen, Partridge, Mark Friesen and wife Joye, Hutchinson; sisters, Marianne Krocker, Wimberly Texas; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, James H. Friesen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery, Inman. Memorials may be sent to Boys and Girls Club of Hutchinson. GALATIA — Olinda Wegele, 86, died Feb. 6 (2008) at Elms Haven Nursing Home in Thornton, Colo. She was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Barton County, the daughter of John and Mary (Dumler) Niedens. She married J. Ernest WEGELE on Feb. 23, 1941, in Milberger. He died Dec. 15, 1999. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the Galatia and Otis area. She was a member of United Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milberger.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Zavodny, and her husband, Tom, of Silverthorne, Colo.; a son, Allen Wegele, and his wife, Delores, of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine brothers, Henry, Alex, George, Fred, Jake, Ed, Rudy, Sam and Emanuel Niedens, and three sisters, Tilly Dumler, Rosie Dumler and Alvina Deutsch.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, with Pastor Amy Austin officiating. Burial will be at Milberger Cemetery in Milberger. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. MONTEZUMA - Harlan Lynn Nightengale, 89, died April 20, 2008, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born Sept. 7, 1918. On April 21, 1946, he married Elsie Betty PENNER. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Lyndon Dale, and Jon Elton and Debbie; daughters, Rita Jean Schmidt, and Linda Sue Isaac and John; brothers, Marvin and Joan, and John H. and Joanne; sisters, Irene Nightengale, and Betty and Gordon Unruh; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Fairview, Okla. Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Montezuma Funeral Home, Montezuma. Burial in Cedar Cemetery, Fairview, Okla. Memorials to Harlan Nightengale Memorial Fund.

MONTEZUMA - Ruby Koehn, 86, died March 13, 2008, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma.
She was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Chickasha, Okla. On Jan. 16, 1944, she married Abe D. KOEHN. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: four sons, Orlan (Grace), Delton (Dea Anne), Melvin (Betty), and Wilbert (Linda); daughter, Janice (Sam) Unruh; seven brothers, Clarence (Erma) Nightingale, Frank (Arvilla) Nightingale, John (Mary Ann) Nightingale, Cecil (Geneva) Nightingale, Homer (Carolyn) Nightingale, Daniel (Sadie) Nightingale and Glen (Roberta) Nightingale; sister, Dessie Koehn; sisters-in-law, Eveline Nightingale and Florence Nightingale; brother-in-law, Vernon Nightingale; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. LAWRENCE — Carole Ellen (Nuss) Dorsch, 63, died Dec. 28 (2007) at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1944, in Great Bend, to Raymond and Elsie Kelpe Nuss. She attended St. John’s Junior College in Winfield, where she received her Associate of Arts degree. From there she attended Valparaiso University in Indiana, and received her Bachelor of Science degree. Carole later returned to school at the University of Kansas and became licensed as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor, which she practiced for 21 years.

She is survived by her partner and best friend Caitlin D. Matthews; one son, Daxon of California; one daughter, Chane of Concordia; four grandchildren; her brother, Morrey Nuss of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; and her sister, Una (Nuss) Durheim of Dodge City.
