Funeral services for Ludwig Dauenhauer, 98, a former farmer in the Mott vicinity were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the St. Placidus church. Rev. Andrews officiated at the services. [Note: surname was spelled Dauenhawer in this obit] . Ludwig Dauenhauer died at the St. Benedicts home where he had been for the last five months. Interment was to be in St. Placidus cemetery.
Mr. Dauenhauer was born in Russia, February 4, 1853. He came to the United States in 1911.
He married Catherine BOLLINGER in 1892 in Russia.
Surviving relatives are three children, Jacob of Mott, Mrs. Pete Hagel of Almont, North Dakota and Mrs. Casper Hagel of Almont. He has one brother, Jake Dauenhauer of Eugene, Oregon and 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Delores (Dechant) Riedel, 70, Hays, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Hays Good Samaritan Center. She was born July 4, 1937, in Liebenthal to Cornelius and Ursela (Legleiter) Dechant. She was a 1955 graduate of Girls Catholic High School. She married Donald A. RIEDEL on June 17, 1961. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney.

Survivors include four sons, Glenn Riedel and wife, Tammy, and Donnie Riedel, all of WaKeeney, Darran Riedel and wife, Loriand, and Guy Riedel, all of Hays; two daughters, Diedra Riedel, Tonkawa, Okla., and Desiree Brady and husband, Steve, Lenexa; three brothers, Emerald and Harry, both of Hays, and Virgil, Leawood; five sisters, Bernice Schaffer, Hays, Peggy Norris, Russell, Rosie Giesick, Carol Werth and Jeanette Gabel, WaKeeney; 18 grandchildren, Courtney, Cindy, Catie, Clayton Riedel, Aubrey, Alexis, Adelle Riedel, Emily, Tiffany, Kristi and Austin Duncan, Alexander, Adrianna and Ayden Brady, and Blake, Brock, and Blaine Riedel; and two great-grandchildren, Karlee and Lane Fairless

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a twin, Donnie, and LaVerne, a sister, Mary Ann Meder, and the father of her children, Donald Riedel,

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, both at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine, Hays. A wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. HAYS - Vernon F. "Booby" Dechant, 73, died Feb. 29, 2008, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1934, in Hays, the son of Peter C. and Agnes Pfannenstiel Dechant. A resident of Hays since 1967, moving from Antonino, he was a farmer.
He belonged to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.
On Oct. 20, 1953, he married Jean BICKER in Ellis. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Keith, Hays; four daughters, Debbie Haynes, Lois Koerner and Sharon Befort, all of Hays, and Kathy Schuckman, Victoria; a sister, Juliane Bernbeck, Parker, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alphonse Dechant, Richard Dechant and Alfred Dechant; and six sisters, Philomena Dechant, Martina Dechant, Marcella Kauffman, Barbara Sauer, Lillian Yeager and Esther Stegman.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Memorials may be sent to the Hays Medical Center Foundation Cardiac Progressive Care Unit or for Masses, both in care of the funeral home.

Funeral services have not been set for Katharina Decker of St. Ann's home, who died at 9:30 Monday, [Dec 26] after an illness of one week.
Mrs. Decker was born in Russia, November 22, 1866 and was married to Daniel DECKER in Russia. She came to the United States in 1891 and has lived in Stark county since that time. Her husband and three sons, Emil, Peter, and Frank, preceded her in death.
Surviving relatives include three sons and four daughters, John, Jack, and Mike, Dickinson; Mrs. Emma Herauf, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. Agnes Dohn, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Barbara Kessel, Glendive, Mont.; and Mrs. Rose Braun, Richardton.

RUSSELL - Lois Jean Scheuerman, 55, died Feb. 20, 2008, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
She was born May 11, 1952, at La Crosse, the daughter of Melvin and Bonnie Ficken Decker. She was a graduate of Otis-Bison High School in 1970, and in 1991 she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fort Hays State University with a BS degree in graphic design. A resident of Bison for 27 years, moving to Russell in 2005, she was a public relations director for USD 428 at Great Bend. She was a member of KASPERA, KASB, Bison Museum, and the former owner of Design Unlimited in Bison.
On July 25, 1970, she married Alan SCHEUERMAN at Otis. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Amber Merriman, Ellis; mother, Bonnie Decker, La Crosse; a brother, Dennis Decker, Atlanta; three sisters, Sharon Klein, Bison, Sheryl Fischer, Council Grove, and Donna Jay, Topeka; a granddaughter, Kiandra Merriman, Ellis.
She was preceded in death by a son, Corey Alan Scheuerman
Funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Bison, with the Revs. David Bolz and Joel Maiorano presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and from noon until service time Saturday at the church. The casket will remain closed. Interment will be in Lone Star Cemetery, Rush County.

Mary Kay Decker, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Decker of Dickinson, died Saturday, June 13, (1953) at the St. Joseph’s hospital after an illness of about six months.
Mary Kay was born in Dickinson, November 25, 1950.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the St. Joseph’s church with father J. J. Schumacher the officiating minister. Interment was in the St. Joseph’s cemetery. Pallbearers were uncles, Joe Decker, Henry Decker, Edward Kostelecky and Frank Kostelecky.
Survivors include her parents, a brother, Donald and a sister, Darlene, at home.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. for Mrs. Rose Marie Koffler who passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital August 6, after an illness of four hours. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery, following services in St. Joseph’s church conducted by Msgr. George Aberle.
Mrs. Koffler, who was born in Russia on January 1, 1881, came to the United States at the age of ten years and has lived in the county since that time, moving to Dickinson twelve years ago.
Mrs. Koffler was twice married – her first husband being John Ehrmantraut who preceded her in death. Surviving children from this union are: Mrs. Tillie Hall and Mrs. Eulita Hall of Baker, Montana; Mrs. Kathryn Thompson of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Ann Whisnell of Clarkston, Washington; Mrs. Rose Gennett of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; George of Bowman; Peter of Brownsville, Texas; John of Grafton and Tony of Dickinson. One daughter, Barbara, preceded her mother in death.
Surviving step children are Tony, Charles and Exver Koffler of Dickinson; John Koffler of Yakima, Washington; Mrs. Fanny Zastoupil, Mrs. Mary Thielen and Mrs. Betty Smith of Dickinson and Mrs. Mary Olheiser of St. Paul, Minnesota.
She is also survived by one sister and one brother – Mrs. Monica Brown and John Decker, and by 27 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

TROUSDALE - Opal Mae Schultz, 100, died Jan. 15, 2008, at Lakewood Senior Living, Pratt.
She was born Sept. 30, 1907, to Howard and Jessie Mourning DeHaven in rural Trousdale, where she was a lifetime resident until moving to Pratt in March 1998. She was a graduate of Trousdale High School in 1926 and received her teacher's certificate from Emporia Teacher's College. She taught third and fourth grades in the Trousdale school system
She was a member of the Trousdale United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in United Methodist Women. She served two terms as missions secretary for the Dodge City District Women's Society of Christian Service. She also was involved with the Trousdale extension program and was a 75-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
On Dec. 20, 1934, she married Roy SCHULTZ in Stafford. He died in September 1996.
Survivors include: two sons, Ron Schultz, Trousdale, and Galen Schultz, Lenexa; two daughters, Reita Rose, Lawrence, and Janet Derley, Lewis; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Derley; four brothers, Lawrence, Leon, Howard and Eugene DeHaven; and two sisters, Georgia Covey and Zelma Honea.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church, Macksville, with Pastor Elaine Lord presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Minnis Chapel, Macksville. Burial will be in Prattsburg Cemetery, near Hopewell.Memorials may be sent to the Trousdale United Methodist Church re-building fund, in care of Minnis Chapel, Macksville.

RUSSELL - Edna M. Milberger, 87, died Feb. 28, 2008, at St. Johns Rest Home, Victoria.
She was born July 12, 1920, in Bazine, the daughter of Jacob and Hannah Janke Deines. She attended Bazine area schools. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife.
She belonged to St. John Lutheran Church, Russell.
On May 15, 1938, she married William DIETZ. He died Aug. 4, 1976. On June 18, 1986, she married Ralph MILBERGER. He died Oct. 12, 1998.
Survivors include: a son, Daryl; a daughter, Diana Edgmon; a brother, Marvin Deines, Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Bernice Swopes, Ponca City, Okla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence, Rueben, Herman and Arthur Deines and a sister, Martha Deines.
Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Russell. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Edna Marie (Dietz) Milberger, 87, Russell, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at St. John's Rest Home, Victoria. She was born July 12, 1920, in Bazine to Jacob and Hannah (Janke) Deines. She attended local schools in Bazine. She married William DIETZ on May 15, 1938. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1976. She later married Ralph MILBERGER on June 18, 1986. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1998. She was a homemaker.

Harry Deines went to be with the Lord on the morning of March 26, 2008, surrounded by his family.
Harry was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Billings. He was the 11th of 13 children born to George and Katharina Deines. He grew up on the family farm west of Billings and found his soul mate in Helen MILLER, the girl next door. They were married on March 12, 1944.
Harry bought a farm and spent most of his life farming until 1983, when he got hurt and moved to town. Harry and Helen just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. They had two wonderful children, Carol Strauss and Harry James Deines, both of Billings; and were blessed with three grandchildren, Doreen (Len) Richardson, Fred (Missy) Lanch and Amanda (Travis) Nagel. His family went forth and multiplied, resulting in 10 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Ashley, Kyndra, Amber, Len Jr., Autumn, Betty, Adrian, Brandi and K.Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
Harry worked hard and played hard. He was a wonderful musician and loved playing his dulcimer board in the Big Sky Polka Band with his sister, Sarah, and brother-in-law, Ed Popp. Harry led a long and prosperous life surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the best Papa in the world. We love you and will miss you forever.
Visitations will be at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West, from noon until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, and Monday, prior to the funeral. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at the Smith West Chapel, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

HOISINGTON - Robert L. Deines, 64, died Jan. 23, 2008, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
He was born April 9, 1943, in Boulder, Colo., the son of Herman F. and Sara A. Arter Deines. A lifetime resident of the Galatia-Hoisington area, he was involved in farming and dirt construction. He also started Dartmouth Sand, of which he was a co-owner. He belonged to the Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington.
On April 16, 1967, he married Bernice NIEDENS. She survives.
Other survivors include: son Kirk and wife Sarah, Hoisington; daughter, Renita and husband, Dr. Tyler Schremmer, Hoisington; his mother, Sara, Otis; a brother, Jim, Wichita; sisters, Kathryn Ahlvers, Great Bend, Marcia Brewer, Edwardsville, Ill., and Vickie Riedl, Woodward, Okla.; four grandchildren, Trent and Tricia Schremmer, and Blake and Noah Deines.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Frank; and a sister, Elizabeth.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington, with the Rev. Mark Lovett presiding. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Ruth A. Kehl, 81, of Cheyenne, passed away Dec. 21 at Davis Hospice Center.
She was born March 27, 1926, in Fort Collins, Colo. and moved to Cheyenne after high school. She married Lawrence KEHL on Sept. 26, 1948, in Fort Collins.
Mrs. Kehl worked at Fort Warren (now F.E. Warren Air Force Base) and then at the Veterans Administration Medical Center where she retired in 1983.
Mrs. Kehl was a member of First Congregational Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Larry Kehl of Cheyenne; a brother, Elmer Deines of Eaton, Colo.; two sisters, Clara Heckman and Irene Tripple both of Fort Collins and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Kehl on June 18, 1984; her parents, Henry and Mary Katherine Deines and a brother Albert Deines.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. J.D. Megason officiating. Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bill Thompson, Terry Deines, Jack Sipes, Keith Deines, Chris Durmas and Gabe Barajas. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.

Polly Sultzer, 78, WaKeeney, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. She was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Miami, Okla., to Frank and Blanche (Lindsey) DeJarnette. She married Eugene "Jim" SULTZER, JR. on Sept. 7, 1955, in Norton. He preceded her in death April 12, 1993. She was a switchboard operator for United Telephone Co.

Survivors include a son, De Sulzer, Hays; two sisters, Patty Mai, WaKeeney, and Dolly DeJarnette, Russell; and three grandsons.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in WaKeeney City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Home in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.

NESS CITY - Linda Rupp, 95, died April 19, 2008. She was born Oct. 12, 1912 to Clements and Mary Lang Depperschmidt. On Oct. 27, 1931, she married Clarence RUPP. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1990.

HENDERSON, Nev. - Jock "Jack" Derr, Jr., 69, died quietly at his home in Henderson, Nev. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008.
His Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 19, at the Lyman United Church of Christ with Pastor Bob Smith officiating. Private family inurnment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

He was born July 29, 1938, in Sioux County, Neb. to Jock "Jack" and Mary (Rexius) Derr His parents moved to the Lyman area where the family farmed. Jack attended school in Lyman and after graduation, he joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Alaska and spent the next four years there playing baseball. After his term with the military, he returned to the Lyman/Mitchell Valley area to farm. Jock worked there until 1987 when he moved to Henderson, Nev.
Survivors include his beloved wife Pat of Henderson; children, Rebecca Hort (Wayne) of Torrington, and Jay Derr (Pam) of Nacogdoches, Texas. He will be greatly missed by granddaughters, Breann Hort and Sandra Derr, and grandsons, Clay, Zane and Jared Hort, and Casey and Thomas Derr; stepchildren, Mary Kinsel of Lyman, Angela Edmonds of Henderson, Russell (Bobbi) Dockins of Las Vegas, Robert (Sandra) Dockins of Cheyenne and Kenneth (Rosie) Dockins of Othello, Wash; five step grandsons, 10 step-granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also his sister, Marion Derr, of Lyman and brother Larry Derr (Corkie) of Lingle, Wyo., sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Derr of Lyman and Barbara Derr of Morrill.

AVON, Ind. - Gerald L. Deutscher, age 60, Avon, formerly of Billings, was born on Dec. 12, 1947, in Jamestown, N.D. He passed away March 13, 2008, after a three-year battle with colon cancer.
A memorial service was held March 15, in Avon.
Gerald graduated from Billings West High and joined the U.S. Marines in 1966 and served our country in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1969. After graduating from EMC with a BS in biology and graduate school at South Dakota State University, he began working for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in 1973, and retired in 2006 after 33 years of service. He worked and managed wildlife refuges in South Dakota, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Midway Is., and concluded his career as manager of the Guam National Wildlife Refuge. He was very proud of protecting and preserving our country's natural resources for future generations.
He is survived by his wife, Sonok; mother Hertha; sister Janice; brothers Gary (LloydAnn), Allan (Marijke), Terry, Rick (Kathy); stepdaughter Gina (Russ) White; stepson Christopher Scott; four granddaughters; seven nephews; four nieces; 12 grandnephews and nieces; and other family members, Nancy Deutscher, Cindy Deutscher and Beckie Cariveau. His father, Gerhard; sister Arlene Hankel; and nephew Justin Deutscher preceded him in death.
A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Gerald's life will be held April 19, 1 to 4 p.m., at the Elks Club, 934 Lewis Ave.

He was born May 16, 1924, in Topeka to Forrest Cecil and Ellen Josephine Anderson Dick. He married Margaret KAGLE. She preceded him in death. He married Avalee ENGLUND on Oct. 3, 1973, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was an over-the-road truck driver until his retirement in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Avalee Dick, Agenda; stepdaughter, Trish Bishop and husband Tim, Concordia; stepson, Terry Cherney and wife Paula, Agenda; niece, Carol Parker and husband Al Aburto, San Diego, California; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two great nieces; and three great-nephews. Ruth Alice (Diehl) Kauffman ROELAND PARK -- Ruth A. Kauffman, 88, former Abilene resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. She was born July 29, 1919, near Chapman. She was a homemaker. Calvin David "Cal" Dietrich, 83, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at his home.
Private Memorial Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. In keeping with his wishes, his remains were cremated.

Cal was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Simpson, Kan. to LeRoy and Florence O. (Pearson) Dietrich. The family lived in Hemingford for a short time, and when Cal was seven years old, he moved with his family to the Gering valley. He was educated in the Gering schools and graduated from Gering High School with the class of 1942. In June of 1947, he was united in marriage to Mary Helen GALUSHA in Loveland, Colo. Cal and Mary Helen farmed in the Gering valley with his father for many years. He worked for Cawley's Tater Flakes, Montgomery Wards, and he and his wife owned and operated the Uniform and Maternity House in Scottsbluff. After he retired, he assisted his son, Sam, in his business in Gering.
Cal was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association, Bluffs Shooters, and the Scottsbluff Elks Lodge #1367. He was a good man, husband and father. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.
Survivors include his sons, Sam Dietrich of Gering, Greg (Rexina) Dietrich of Redmond, Wash.; daughter, Linda Fisher of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Charlene Cawley of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Julia Fisher, Jennifer Cowling, Carl Dietrich, Mellany Dietrich and Mike Dietrich. His special friend and caregiver, Rae Ann Schmitz of Scottsbluff, special friend, Shelli Morgan of Scottsbluff and numerous great-grandchildren also survive him.
His parents, wife Mary Helen, his brothers Leonard and Roy and his sister Charlotte Humphrey preceded him in death.

WORLAND, Wyo. - Robert James Dietz, 73-year-old Worland resident, died at his home on Dec. 21, 2007, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Edgar, Mont., on Nov. 9, 1934, to Jacob and Pauline (Schleining) Dietz. He attended school in Bridger, Mont., and was active in many sports. He graduated high school from Bridger High. Following high school, Bob farmed with his folks and then went to work for Bice Trucking Line as a mechanic.
On May 17, 1957, he married Dolores FRANK in Red Lodge. That same year, Bob and Dolores moved to Worland, where they later formed a partnership with Mel and Lois Dietz, "OK Rubberwelders," which later became "Mels OK Tire Inc." Dolores passed away on Feb. 26, 1996. Bob later married Angie Batt on Feb. 6, 2001, in Bullhead City, Ariz. They continued to make their home in Worland.
Bob was an avid sports fan, enjoying sports at the local high school, state and professional levels. Camping was a favorite pastime and he was an active supporter of the Ag Community. He also loved to garden and was the main supplier of sweet corn to our community. The sweet corn was planted and tended by him and then picked and sold by his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dolores; his sisters, Ella Boucher, Edith Dietz, Viola Foust; and brothers, Arthur, Chris, Harold and Ray.
He is survived by his wife, Angie; children, Lori (Brent) Brown of Dickinson, N.D., Frank (Tori) Dietz, Shellie (Jim) Miller, all of Worland; stepsons, Terry (Donna) and Darren Batt; brother Mel Dietz of Worland; sisters, Evelyn Coe of Billings, Violet Davis of California, Barb Long of Laurel, Mont., Betty Martinson of Forsyth, Mont.; grandchildren, Marissa (Jason) Satkunam, Angela and Joey Miller, Derrick, Bryan and Kylee Brown; step-grandchildren, Tobi Brown, James, Chance and Hunter Batt, and Kadi Peterson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Zion Lutheran Church in Worland, with Reverend Ralph Partelow officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

She was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Ks., where she was the past organist for many years.
On Nov. 7, 1937, she married Rudolph FUNK at Milberger, Kansas. He preceded in death Oct. 21, 1988.
Survivors include: son, Thomas Dietz and his wife Rosemary, Eudora, Ks.; two daughters, Sharon Gruber and her husband Richard, New Orleans, La., and Karla Kelly, Shawnee Mission, Ks.; brother, Bernard Dietz, Point Richard, CA.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by five brothers, Solomon, Hubert, Herbert, Arthur and Carl Dietz, two sisters, Elizabeth Haun and Clara Merkle and a grandson Cameron Kelly.

He married Jane T. (BRUNGARDT) on Sept. 14, 1974, in Victoria. He was a partner in D and S Masonry for 30 years. He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, St. Fidelis Assemble Knights of Columbus 4th degree and Victoria Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1751.

HAYS - Gerard Dinkel, 88, died Jan. 9, 2008, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
He was born April 27, 1919, at Victoria, the son of John J. and Catherine Dreiling Dinkel. He was a bookkeeper and yardman for 30 years at Hardman Lumber Company in Hays.
He belonged to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars post No. 9076. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
On Jan. 8, 1946, he married Henrietta ROME at Victoria. She survives.

VICTORIA - Wilmer W. Dinkel, Sr., 82, died Feb. 18, 2008, at St. John's Health Care Center, Victoria.
He was born Nov. 18, 1925, south of Victoria, the son of Wendelin J. and Pauline Dreiling Dinkel. A resident of Victoria, he was a plant operator and a truck driver at Russell Redi-Mix Co., Russell, for 39 years, retiring in 1990. He belonged to St. Fidelis Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1751, both in Victoria. He served in the U.S. Army.
On Sept. 3, 1952, he married Irene E. HONAS in Ellis. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Wilmer W. Jr., Victoria; two daughters, Agnes Dreher, Guymon, Okla., and Mary Ann Windholz, Victoria; a brother, Alvin F., Victoria; a sister, Irene Beran, Great Bend; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Dinkel.
A Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. and a VFW rosary at 7:30 p.m. today at Cline's Mortuary, Victoria. SCOTT CITY - Dewayne Lee Dirks, 74, died April 24, 2008. He was born Sept. 12, 1933, to Walter and Ella Unruh Dirks. On Sept. 19, 1954, he married Delilah KOEHN. She died Jan. 22, 1976, in Scott City, Kansas. On June 6, 1976, he married Dorothy UNRUH. She survives.
Survivors include: son, Keith; daughters, Janalee Dirks, Gayla Doolittle, Donna Schmidt; brother, Kenneth Dirks, five sisters, Norma Jantz, Doris Harms, Thelma Schafer, Irene Holdeman, Jeanette Koehn; three grandchildren

SCOTT CITY - Michelle A. Koehn, 24, died Feb. 8, 2008, at her home, Cedaredge, Colo., after a short-term illness.
She was born Aug. 31, 1983, in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Janell Unruh Dirks. She was a former resident of Scott City.
On March 13, 2005, she married Wendell KOEHN in Scott City. He survives.
Other survivors include: her parents, Scott City; a brother, Brandon Dirks, Scott City; a sister, Joni Koehn, Marienthal; and her grandparents, including, Jim and MaryAnn Unruh, Scott City.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Scott Mennonite Church, Scott City, with Minister Charles Nightengale presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the church. GILLETTE -- Memorial service for Robert “Bob” Dockter, 82, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Firminhac of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Bismarck, N.D.
He died March 8, 2008, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital from complications of surgery.
He was born on June 18, 1925, the son of Jake and Alvina (Nagel) Dockter in Tuttle, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Tuttle.
On July 2, 1948, he was married to Sadie OJANEN in Bismarck, N.D. At the time of his death they had been married for almost 60 years.
He left the family farm near Goodrid, N.D. in the spring of 1948, to work as a mechanic for Davis Chevrolet in Bismarck, N.D. He was employed there for nine years and decided to make a change in his vocation. He moved to Utah to attend school and became an employee of CB & R Railroad in Wyoming, now known as the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
He retired in 1987 and since then has worked in carpentry and maintenance and volunteered at the Senior Center. He also delivered Meals on Wheels with his wife. He was a member of the American Legion and of Trinity Lutheran church.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie, his sons, Kevin R. Dockter and his wife, Mark H. Dockter, his daughters Patrice Carter and her husband, and Lori Baken and her husband, brothers, Arnold Dockter and his wife, Dale Dockter and his wife, sisters, Hattie Zechiel, Erma Stordahl and her husband, Elsie Schmitke, Florence Kleeck and her husband, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herbert and Ervin Dockter, and three sisters, Gertrude Desing, Clara Fairchild and Ester Herty.
A memorial has been established in his name to benefit the American Diabetes Association and memorials can be sent to the Walker Funeral Home at 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, 82716.

John Dolechek, retired farmer, Dickinson, died at the St. Joseph’s hospital Tuesday, Jan. 6. The cause of death was a stroke. He had been ill about six days.
Funeral services will be conducted for the deceased Thursday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph’s church with Msgr. George Aberle officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s church cemetery.
Mr. Dolechek was born in Russia, Oct. 30, 1884. He came to the United States in 1901 and homesteaded on a farm ten miles south of Dickinson. He retired in 1943. He was married to Emelia FRENZEL Nov. 22, 1909, in Dickinson. Three sons and a daughter were born to them.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children: the sons, Adolph and Louis, both of Dickinson and a daughter, Mrs. Phil Dukart, Dickinson; five grandchildren; brothers, Max, Joe, Valentine and August, all of Dickinson, and two sisters, Mrs. Val Kuntz, New England and Mrs. George Hoffman, Dickinson.
A son, Anton, was killed in World War II, in the South Pacific. Three brothers and two sisters and his parents preceded him in death. The Mischel-Olson funeral home is in charge of arrangements. The Dickinson ND Press 7 Jan 1953

GARDEN CITY - Dennis L. Dreiling, 66, died March 6, 2008.
He was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Garden City, the son of Godfrey and Anna Goetz Dreiling. On Nov. 6, 1980, he married Connie J. SMITH. She survives. Other survivors include: children, Troy Lee Dreiling, Amanda Fawcett, Kris Smith, Kurt Smith, Kevin Smith, Kelley Hernandez, Kirk Smith, Alan Dreiling and Rhonda Scully; brother, Donald; sister, Jane Frazier; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Simon L. Dreiling, 87, Oakley, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter. He was born March 14, 1920, in St. Peter to Frank and Amelia( Brungardt) Dreiling. He married Pauline BEESLEY on June 27, 1950, in Longmont, Colo. She preceded him in death in 2001. He was a farmer.

Survivors include a nephew and a niece.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Oakley. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley. Florence L. Sterling, 91, passed away Jan. 25, 2008, at Good Samaritan Village.

Florence Lillian Dreith was born Oct. 21, 1916, the second of seven children, to George Jr. and Amelia (Spomer) Dreith on the family farm east of Berthoud. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1934. Florence moved to Fort Collins in 1950. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for almost 60 years. She was a homemaker who was devoted to family, helping others and doing volunteer work. She was a volunteer at Columbine East for 28 years. Florence married Wilfred (Fritz) STERLING on Dec. 4, 1963. Together, they enjoyed being with family and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Shirley Jean Schwindt; husband, Fritz Sterling; brother, Harold Dreith; and sisters, Dorothy Jean Dreith and Virginia Manning.

Florence is survived by sons, Kenneth (Janice) Schwindt, Robert (Patty) Schwindt, David (Michelle) Sterling, all of Fort Collins, Mike (Connie Kovach) Sterling of Powell, Wyo., and Roger (Bernita) Sterling of LaPorte; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen Axelson of Longmont, Frances Rutt of Johnstown and Mary Ann Yocky of Loveland; and numerous relatives.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, as well as from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Allnutt Funeral Service Drake Road Chapel. Monica Dukart Kuntz, age 83, of Schefield, passed away Sunday at the St. Joseph’s hospital after being ill for one week. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at the St. Pius church in Schefield at 10 a.m. with the Reverend B. Damus officiating.
Mrs. Kuntz was born in Russia November 1, 1868. She came to the United States in 1906. She was married to Simon KUNTZ in Russia in 1888. Thirteen children were born to them, three of whom preceded her in death. The children are Nick, Dickinson; Joe, St. Pius; Frank, Anton and John of St. Pius, Mary at home; [Mrs.] X. Obrigewitch, Richardton; Mrs. Joe Fitterer; Gladstone; Mrs. John Fichter, Gladstone; and Mrs. Val Walter, New England.
She is survived by twin sisters, Mrs. Mary Weber, Dickinson; and Mrs. John Hamann, Fromberg, Mont.; two brothers, Joe Dukart, Dickinson; and Emanuel of Dickinson.
Mrs. Kuntz was a member of the St. Pius church. The Mischel funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Michael Alexander Dumler, 52, of Port Orchard, Wash., died in Bremerton, Wash., on Jan. 22, 2008. He was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Fort Collins to Albert and Georgia (Schwerdfeger) Dumler. He graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1974 and the University of Northern Colorado in 1994 with a BSBA in finance. He married Janice Renae SAVKO on May 28, 1987, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Michael worked for 13 years as an accountant, most recently as a property accountant for Pinnacle Realty Management in Seattle. He enjoyed Bible study, woodworking, home remodeling, day trips, his dogs "George and Sam" and fellowship with his friends. He was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship in Silverdale, Wash.

Surviving are his wife, Janice of the family home in Port Orchard; father, Albert Dumler of Eaton; and sister, Thelma (Ed) Taylor of Galeton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Dumler.

Rites for Anton A. Dvorak, pioneer settler of this area, will be conducted Thursday (1952) at the St. Peter and Paul church, at New Hradec at 10 a.m. with the Rev. L. Brydl officiating at the services. A requiem mass will be given at the St. Wenceslaus church at 9 a.m. Thursday with Father Pribl conducting the services. He will be buried in the St. Peter and Paul’s cemetery.
Mr. Dvorak died on Monday at Rochester, Minn., after an illness of about four months. The cause of death was given as cancer.
He was born in Russia and came to the United States in 1903. He had lived at New Hradec until six years ago when he came to Dickinson and retired from farming.
His wife is the former Anna KOSTELECKY. They were married at New Hradec. Four children were born to them, two of whom survive him. They are William, Dickinson and Laudie of California. One daughter, Sister Mary Bertilla and an infant son preceded him in death. Others who survive him are four grandchildren, and five brothers and a sister. The brothers are Stanley, Frank, Joe and Vincent all of Dickinson; John of South Heart; and Mrs. John Kubas of Dickinson.

HESSTON - Velma L. Dyck Jantzen, 75, died Jan. 14, 2008, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
She was born April 18, 1932, in Hesston, the daughter of Jacob and Fannie Yost Dyck. She was a schoolteacher. She belonged to the Meridian Church.
On Jan. 31, 1988, she married Melvin JANTZEN in Hesston. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Scott, Wichita, and Daniel, Colorado; a daughter, Lea and Stuart Isaac, Durham; two brothers, John Dyck, Hesston, and Kenneth Dyck, Newton; two sisters, Neva Schmidt, Moundridge, and Margaret Ensz, Inman; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harold Dyck, Hesston; and two grandchildren, Holly and Kyle Isaac.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Meridian Church, rural Hesston, with Ministers Eldon Wenger and Shawn Giesel presiding. A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cimarron Mennonite Church, Cimarron. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the church, with the family present today, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Cimarron. Burial will be in Cimarron Cemetery.
